Reversal of Land and Water Degradation Trends In the Lake Chad Basin Ecosystem: Establishment of Mechanisms for Land and Water Management
The long-term objective of the Lake Chad Basin Commission (LCBC) GEF project is to achieve global environmental benefits through concerted management of the naturally integrated land and water resources of the Lake Chad Basin. The specific purpose of the project is to overcome barriers to the concerted management of the basin through well-orchestrated and enhanced collaboration and capacity building among riparians and stakeholders.

IWRM Capacity Building Workshop Held in Member States
The workshop for the promotion of IWRM in the member states of the Lake Chad Basin Commission was held in the Central African Republic, Niger, Chad, Cameroon and Nigeria. The workshop whose aim was to trained experts and decision-makers in the principles and the practical application of IWRM with references to best practices from Mali, Guinea and Burkina Fasso and Europe ends in Nigeria on the 13th July 2007.
