IWC5 LinkedIn Text 1

linkedinlogo.gifPart of the purpose of the GEF Biennial International Waters Conference is to promote experience sharing and networking among participants. The internet now offers additional opportunities for networking among people via the development of social networking tools. Such tools enable participants to collaborate and network virtually, in the space between face-to-face events. One such tool is LinkedIn, which is specifically aimed at professional networking. LinkedIn is an interconnected network of experienced professionals from around the world, representing 170 industries and 200 countries. You can find, be introduced to, and collaborate with qualified professionals that you need to work with to accomplish your goals.

We intend to use LinkedIn as a collaborative workspace for stakeholders of the GEF IW portfolio of projects. Initially, we will start with conference participants and utilize LinkedIn to collaborate on session design and also introduce ourselves prior to the conference. Participants will benefit from joining this website by networking and learning about participants prior to and after the IWC5. Subsequently, we can use LinkedIn to collaborate beyond the conference and engage more stakeholders of projects.

If you don't already have a profile at LinkedIn.com, please create one and join the group "GEF IW Collaborative Workspace". Requests for information and other information will be disseminated via this LinkedIn group, so you are strongly encourged to join as part of official registration.
