DRAFT Handbook on Public Participation in International Waters Management

This Handbook on Public Participation in International Waters Management is the result of a collaborative project between the Environmental Law Institute (ELI) and the Global Environment Facility’s International Waters Learning Exchange and Resource Network (GEF/IW:LEARN). It is aimed simultaneously at GEF international waters project staff, governments, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) involved in international watershed decision-making within the context of GEF international waters projects.

El presente Manual sobre Participación Pública en la Gestión de Aguas Internacionales es el resultado de un proyecto en colaboración con el Instituto de Ley Medio Ambiental (ELI) y la Red de Recursos e Intercambio de Aprendizaje sobre Aguas Internacionales del Fondo para el Medio Ambiente Mundial (GEF/IW:LEARN). Está dirigido simultáneamente a personal del proyectos GEF de aguas internacionales, gobiernos, y organizaciones no gubernamentales (ONGs) comprometidas en la toma de decisiones referentes a cuencas internacionales en el contexto de proyectos del programa operacional de aguas internacionales del GEF.

Folder containing files pertaining to the public participation workshop, which was supported by WBI, GEF IW:LEARN, ELI, VIWRR, UNDP/UNEP and Coca-Cola Company was organised over 2 days from 3rd to 4th of April 2008 at the Melia Hotel, Hanoi, Vietnam. It resulted from cooperation between ELI, IW:LEARN and VIWRR to prepare the background materials, logistics and substantive delivery.
