New Groundwater Learning Feature on IW:LEARN.net

Dear Aquifer Structured Learning Community,
Greetings after some time from IW:LEARN. We hope this message finds
you well. In gearing up for the next International Waters Conference
and other Groundwater-related events we would like to highlight a new
blog feature now available on our website:
http://www.iwlearn.net/blog/groundwater-learning/. The blog is a more
useful technology which we'd like to use to eventually replace this
mailing list. The blog serves as an online diary where participants
can relate lessons-learned especially with regard to transboundary
groundwater management. One can also post documents, links and photos
to enhance the presentation. On top of that users can post comments
on entries, maintaining the discussion aspect important to the
structured learning. We encourage you to register for this blog
(instructions at the end of this message) as a way to share useful
documents, events and the like with the community.
This feature was set up initially to coincide with IW:LEARN's
groundwater stakeholder learning exchange in cooperation with the
IAEA and USGS. This event saw major GEF IW groundwater projects
assemble for a study tour in the US to consider technical, managerial
and public participation aspects of groundwater. The Iullemeden, NW
Sahara and Guarani aquifers participated, with some observation from
the new IAEA executed GEF IW Nubian Aquifer project who were able to
follow in "real-time". More information on this learning exchange is
available at www.iwlearn.net/groundwater along with assembled
documents and presentations. We hope this new exchange will usher in
a new era for this structured learning community.
Please take a moment to visit
http://www.iwlearn.net/blog/groundwater-learning/. On that page you
can view the blog's content. You also have two possibilities to
subscribe. You can either "subscribe-only" (in the lower right part
of the screen), or you can create a login (in the upper right part of
the screen) for yourself in order to make postings. It is the first
time we are experimenting with this medium so any comments you have
are greatly appreciated.
Best wishes,
Mish
