    >Hi all,
    >
    >The Dundee UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and Science, at the
    >University of Dundee, Scotland, is looking for a Researcher in Water
    >Services Regulation.
    >
    >Applications are invited for a new Researcher with expertise in law
    >and economics to investigate the legal issues surrounding the
    >economic regulation of water utilities at a national scale within
    >the global context.
    >
    >You will have a research record in legal issues related to the
    >regulation of water utilities - including, but not limited to topics
    >such as regulatory governance, regulation of publicly owned
    >utilities, international investment issues, and relevant legal
    >principles of regulatory law; practical / applied research in this
    >area would be an asset. You will be a proactive member of the
    >existing Transnational Water Law research cluster at the Centre and
    >will work to build this research area.
    >
    >You will be based at the UNESCO Centre for Water Law, Policy and
    >Science, and work closely with the International and National Water
    >Law and Science research clusters. The Centre is part of the
    >Postgraduate School of Management and Policy (College of Arts and
    >Social Sciences), at the University of Dundee. Within the
    >University, the Centre already has strong links with Geography, Law,
    >Life Sciences, Civil Engineering, and particularly with the Centre
    >for Energy, Petroleum and Mineral Law and Policy (CEPMLP), which it
    >seeks to strengthen further. In the last RAE, existing members of
    >the Centre were rated five within the Law unit of assessment. This
    >is the first UNESCO Centre in the UK and the first of its kind in
    >the world. The Dundee UNESCO Centre has active links with all UN
    >bodies that work on water and a strong international network.
    >
    >You should have a first university degree in law and a PhD (or
    >working towards), or equivalent experience in a relevant area. The
    >ability to work independently and within a team (both within and
    >outwith the University of Dundee) on a range of related projects is
    >expected. You should have strong communication skills and be capable
    >of interacting well at a range of levels with colleagues and
    >partners within Scotland and around the world; international travel
    >will be required. An ability to work in languages in addition to
    >English (which is essential) would be an important asset.
    >
    >Closing Date: 30 Sep 2008
    >
    >Informal enquiries should be directed to the Director (Professor Dr
    >Patricia Wouters +44 01382 384456, email address ) or Dr Michael
    >Hantke-Domas (+44 01382 386476, email address ). We regret that we
    >are unable to accept applications by email.
