The New GEF
The New GEF
One might ask to what extent the restructuring of GEF procedures can possibly have an effects on ongoing projects. Maybe none, maybe a lot. In the case that new project ideas and concepts are emerging, there is a whole new reality to which they have to comply.
Is it true that PDF A's and B's do not exist anymore?? What is a GEF PPG?? To what extent will the new PPGs be instrumental in the process of project preparation?? Are there any new criteria that I should be aware of when working out the budget for the project?? Has the project cycle changed?? What is a CEO Endorsement Letter??
Well these are some of the questions that can be discussed in this blog, but we are confident that there are a whole range of issues and questions still out there waiting to be discussed and answered.
The New GEF
The New Strategies
I do think it an excellent idea to discuss the strategies that are undergoing thorough revision, but I would like to wait with posting these here until after the june Council meeting. Then I will be more than happy to discuss them here, by already posting and discussing them here I think we may create more chaos then clear visions of what they are about. So lets wait till after the council meeting.

What *is* the "NEW GEF?"
Many project personnel and national coordinators haven't participated in GEF policy-making, thus may not even know there is a "NEW GEF." Could you please explain what GEF Secretariat means by this phrase? Does it only affect future projects? If not, what are the practical ramifications for existing GEF IW projects like mine?
Thank you very much,
