Subject: Meeting, Africa
Description: Environmental ethics is the part of environmental philosophy which considers the ethical relationship between human beings and the natural environment. It exerts influence on a large range of disciplines including law, sociology, theology, economics, ecology and geography.
Within the frame work of the 7th Phase of UNESCO-IHP activities in the Arab region, the UNESCO Cairo Office supported the establishment of the Arab Network for Water Use Ethics (ANWE) in 2006 with a major goal to actualize water uses ethics and to contribute to the alleviation of the Arab water crisis. ANWE's mission includes dissemination of knowledge, exchange of experiences, improvement of behavior and social conduct and raising awareness on water ethics. A plan of action for developing an ethical framework for IWRM implementation in the Arab region is also proposed.
This meeting will identify the regional priorities and action plan for water ethics, ecological/ecosystem ethics, and public awareness/capacity building.
Subject: Conference, Americas
Description: The Interdisciplinary Environmental Association (IEA) invites you to participate in the 15th International Interdisciplinary Conference on the Environment! The conference is motivated by the increasing need to combine ideas and research findings from different disciplines to enhance our understanding of the interactions between the natural environment and human institutions.

Subject: Conference, Americas
Description: To this end, the IJC has developed and begun implementing its
International Watersheds Initiative (IWI) over the past decade. The IWI
was created on the premise that water resource and environmental
problems can be anticipated, prevented, or resolved at the local level.
Rather than simply measuring the quantity or quality of border lakes and
rivers in isolation, the IWI promotes an integrated ecosystem approach
to watershed preservation that acknowledges the complex
interrelationships in the entire watershed.

Through lectures, discussions, exchanges and a one-day field study, the participants will be given the opportunity to improve professional river basin management theory and knowledge, acquire the latest concepts, techniques and information, and establish linkages among participants.
Subject: Workshop, Africa
Description: FAO recently produced a software (AquaCrop) for the simulation of the response of the cultures to the availability D water. Focusing on the water resource is justified by the fact that L water is the factor which limits more the agricultural production. AquaCrop uses a limited number of parameters, which are explicit and intuitive, aiming at combining simplicity, precision, and reliability.
