2nd Regional Working Group Report for the Biodiversity Component

This publication contains the report of the Second Meeting of the Regional Working Group for the Biodiversity Component, under the UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem.” The report includes a summary of the discussions and agreements from the Meeting. The meeting reviewed and synthesized biodiversity data and information for the Yellow Sea acquired during extensive data collection exercises, analyzing the gaps in the data and discussing the difficulties in data and information collection. Members also discussed the preparation of data and information for input to the final Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the YSLME Project.

2nd Regional Working Group Report for the Ecosystem Component

This publication contains the report of the Second Meeting of the Regional Working Group for the Ecosystem Component, under the UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem.” The report includes a summary of the discussions and agreements from the Meeting. A standardised way to present ecosystem data by “status indices” for the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis was agreed on. The report also describes the Ecosystem Component’s activities to be implemented in 2006.

2nd Regional Working Group Report for the Fisheries Component

This publication contains the report of the Second Meeting of the Regional Working Group for the Fisheries Component, under the UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem.” The report includes a summary of the discussions and agreements from the Meeting. The meeting reviewed and synthesized Fisheries data and information for the Yellow Sea acquired during extensive data collection exercises, analyzing the gaps in the data and discussing the difficulties in data and information collection. Members discussed the status and patterns-of-change in the Yellow Sea and agreed upon the preparation of data and information for input to the final Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis (TDA) for the YSLME Project.

2nd Regional Working Group Report for the Investment Component

This publication contains the report of the Second Meeting of the Regional Working Group for the Investment Component, under the UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem.” The report includes a summary of the discussions and agreements from the Meeting. A wide range of activities, including the devising of a public awareness and communication strategy, the governance analysis, the environment valuation, the national and regional co-operation and co-ordination, and the establishment of a meta database and GIS database, were discussed and agreed on. The report also describes a plan to implement analytical work such as governance analysis and environmental valuation.

2nd Regional Working Group Report for the Pollution Component

This publication contains the report of the Second Meeting of the Regional Working Group for the Pollution Component, under the UNDP/GEF Project, “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem.” The report includes a summary of the discussions and agreements from the Meeting. A standardised way to present pollutant data and information for the Transboundary Diagnostic Analysis was agreed on. The report also describes the methods to implement Pollution Component’s activities in 2006.

Proposal and Report Writing Workshop for Environmental Practitioners

The UNDP/GEF Project on “Reducing Environmental Stress in the Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem (YSLME)” organised the “Proposal and Report Writing Workshop for Environmental Practitioners: Keys to Effective Writing” in Ansan, Republic of Korea (ROK), 22-23 October 2007, to strengthen the capacity of government agencies and research organisations to prepare high-quality proposals and reports for securing the integrity and sustainability of environmentally-related research activities that the organisations implement.
