Water Policy Adviser (WWF-UK)
The Water Policy Advisor will be part of an innovative WWF team that seeks to reframe the debate on management of water, to encourage sustainable water footprints and to safeguard iconic freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity. The UNDP/GEF Yellow Sea Large Marine Ecosystem (YSLME) Project aims to facilitate protection and sustainable use of marine and coastal resources in the Yellow Sea. Director of UNEP - DHI Water and Environment Center in Hoersholm, Denmark
Under the general guidance of the Director, Division of Environmental Policy Implementation (DEPI), the direct supervision of the Deputy Director of (DEPI) and in close coordination with the Chief of the Freshwater Ecosystems Unit (DEPI), the incumbent will be responsible for the dayto-day management of the UNEP-DHI Water and Environment Centre in Hoersholm, Denmark. Web Communications & IT Officer (Global Water Partnership)

Consultant: Installation of a Mooring and Demarcation Buoy System for the Sandy Island/ Oyster Bed Marine Protected Area (SIOBMPA), Carriacou, Grenada
The objective of this project is to enhance the management of the SIOBMPA to ensure conservation of biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods by developing and constructing infrastructure required for the management of the SIOBMPA. (Closing date: 18 November 2008)
Consultant: Development and Implementation of a Communication Strategy for the Sandy Island/ Oyster Bed Marine Protected Area (SIOBMPA), Carriacou, Grenada
The objective of this project is to enhance the management of the SIOBMPA to ensure conservation of biodiversity and sustainable livelihoods by developing and implementing a communication strategy, which includes: (a) A public awareness campaign strategy to educate Carriacou residents about the existence and the importance of the marine protected area; and, (b) A visitor and local interpretation program that will be used to educate people about the ecological benefits of the SIOBMPA as they visit the protected area. Technical Adviser: Environmental Officer (Lake Tanganyika Project)
The TA Environment will work through the LTA in close liaison with the National Agencies and the Inter-ministerial Committees to ensure the effective implementation of the UNDP/GEF project. The TA Environment will provide the senior technical expertise and leadership for the Program stakeholders in Land and Water protection components of the Lake Tanganyika Integrated Management Program. IT Consultant - Development of a GEF-IWCAM Clearing House Mechanism (IWCAM)
In line with the GEF-IWCAM Project’s goal to promote the IWCAM approach and provide access to information and resources on IWCAM, even after the Project has been completed, the PCU is seeking to create a CHM which will be openly accessible through the internet and which is part of its Project Information Management System (PIMS). This CHM will serve the dual function of creating a window (information platform) for the GEF-IWCAM Project and its activities to the outside world, and will also be a gateway to information and resources on the IWCAM approach. Deputy Head – Global Marine Programme (IUCN)
The IUCN Global Marine Programme (GMP) has experienced significant growth in terms of project activities and team members in the past few years. In order for the Programme to consolidate its progress to date with a view to expanding its influence in the future, a Deputy Head is required to support the Head in developing and running the Programme. The Deputy Head’s primary focus will be managing staff, building and maintaining relationships with other IUCN component programmes and members, developing strategies, programmes and projects, and ensuring quality delivery of programme activities. Regional Coordinator (FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific)
The Bay of Bengal Large Marine Ecosystem project (BOBLME) covering eight countries is to protect the health of the ecosystem and to manage the living resources of the population. The project will be run and coordinated through a Regional Coordinating Unit (RCU) acting as the secretariat of a project Steering Committee (PSC) responsible for providing general oversight of the execution of the BOBLME carried out through National Task Forces (NTFs). A Regional Coordination Unit (RCU) will act as Secretariat to the PSC . The RCU will coordinate work at the national level through the National Coordinators (NC) and at regional level through regional sub-contracting agencies or individuals. The RCU will be under the direct management of the Regional Coordinator who also acts as the Secretary to the PSC. The RCU will be located at the FAO Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific in Bangkok for the first year of the project and thereafter will move to a hosted location in one of the participating countries. Marine Conservation Program Coordinator (WWF Chile)
Under the direction of the WWF Chile Director, the Marine Coordinator establishes conservation strategies for WWF marine priority areas in Chile and promotes the protection and proper management of marine biodiversity. The marine conservation coordinator will oversee activities related to the conservation and establishment of high conservation value areas (HCVAs) and marine protected areas (MPAs) in Southern Chile, serving as primary contact for government officials, NGOs, industries, and local and indigenous communities for WWF Chile’s work in MPA development.
