4th GEF IW Conference
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) and its Implementing Agencies (UNDP, UNEP, and the World Bank) will host its Fourth Biennial International Waters Conference in Cape Town, South Africa from July 31 - August 3, 2007. The purpose of the conference is to review GEF's global International Waters portfolio (nearly $3 billion), and to share experiences and best practices for international waters management.

PARTICIPANTS
This
invitation only conference will feature senior representatives from the
GEF International Waters project managers and senior staff,
Implementing Agencies (UNDP, UNEP, World Bank), Executing Agencies
(UNIDO, FAO, IMO, NGO's), officials, donor partners, and Secretariats
to many Regional Sea and River Basin Conventions. The event will also
feature the directors of UNDP, UNEP, as well as senior South African
government officials. Also in attendance will be ministerial level
participants from many of the over 130 countries participating in GEF’s
International Waters portfolio.
