DESCRIPTION:The Global Environment Facility (GEF) held its Third Bienn
 ial International Waters Conference\, June 20-25\, 2005 in Salvador\, 
 Bahia\, Brazil\,  to review GEF?s global International Waters portfoli
 o (nearly $3 billion total)\, share successes and experiences\, and en
 courage collaboration across the International Waters portfolio. <p> T
 he primary objective of the conference is to foster knowledge sharing 
 and collaboration between participating governments\, GEF Internationa
 l Waters projects\, GEF Implementing and Executing Agencies\, donor pa
 rtners\, and the private and non-profit sectors.<p> <b>PARTICIPANTS</b
 ><p> This invitation only conference will feature senior representativ
 es from the GEF Secretariat\, Implementing Agencies (UNDP\, UNEP\, Wor
 ld Bank)\, Executing Agencies\, funding partners\, GEF International W
 aters (IW) Project Managers and Regional Sea and River Conventions. Al
 so in attendance will be ministerial level participants from many of t
 he over 130 countries participating in GEF?s International Waters port
 folio.
