Transboundary Aquifers Conference, Dec 2010
An international conference Convened by UNESCO IHP and IGCP Programmes, IAH and UNEP in cooperation with AIDA, GEF-IW, GWP, IAHS, IGRAC, NGWA, OAS, SIWI, UNU-EHS, UN-WWAP, UNW-DPC, WWC and entitled “Transboundary Aquifers: Challenges and new directions” will be held at UNESCO’s headquarters in Paris from 6-8 December 2010. This event marks the end of the first phase of the ISARM Programme and the start of its second phase and aims to look forward to the challenges and new directions required for the sustainable development and management of transboundary aquifers. The conference will focus on a global overview of transboundary aquifer systems, their management, ways to build capacities and strengthen institutions, and enhanced cooperation.
