XVII Congress of Aapresid (Argentinean No-till Farmers Association)
The XVII Congress of Aapresid (Argentinean No-till Farmers Association), will be held in Rosario city, Argentina, on August 19-21, 2009. During this event, the International Water Symposium will also take place. Aapresid is a non-governmental non-profit organization, comprising a network of innovative farmers, receptive to scientific and technical progress that promotes no-tillage systems for agricultural production. Our intention is that the 17th Congress of Aapresid constitutes a meeting point of associates, farmers, technicians, scholars, politicians, specialists as well as intellectuals from Argentina to learn, to think about different issues and to promote "new ideas". We also expect the attendance of farmers and specialists from other countries around the world. We feel very pleased that this event becomes into a reference meeting for all those interested in sustainable agriculture, biotechnology progress and the relation of production with the permanent changes that take place in the world. The audience is mainly composed by farmers that are looking for ways of improving the quality of the no-tillage by adopting good agricultural practices such as, crop rotation intensity and diversity, strategic and balanced fertilization, and the use of double crops, cover crops, intercropping, relay cropping, etc.
