Program Study on International Waters (2002)
This Study was undertaken in preparation of the Second Study of GEF's Overall Performance. The report provides an assessment of three frequent approaches to environmental management of trans-boundary waters adopted by GEF IW projects: geographically-based, single versus multiple Implementing Agency, and community-based. The study concludes that the GEF projects have made significant contributions to existing agreements that address the environmental protection and restoration of trans-boundary water bodies.
