An instrument for assessing the quality of environmental valuation studies (2006)
In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for the inclusion of both benefits and costs in assessments of environmental policy proposals. However, difficulties in estimating the benefits side suggest that the positive effects of environmental policy risk being underestimated. One solution to this problem is to launch new valuation studies to increase the knowledge base in areas where few or no studies have been carried out to date. However, this requires a significant amount of time and financial resources. It is therefore important to use results from existing studies to the greatest possible extent.
