The Danube River Basin Pollution Reduction Programme was established to address the deteriorating water quality of Danube river and tributaries, due to wastewater and other pollution generated in thirteen-country river basin. Its goals are: (1)Develop prioritized pollution reduction projects for cofinancing by national and international sources (2) Improve and develop policies for protection of river basin (3)Increase public awareness and participation in solving the Danube’s environmental problems
