The Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation is the ministry in charge of managing the water resources of the Arab Republic of Egypt mainly the Nile. It also manages irrigation projects in Egypt, such as the Aswan Dam and Al-Salam Canal.[1] Its headquarters are in Cairo.
Mission: • Monitoring the evolution of the Egyptian coasts to determine the near shore zone changes of the coasts. • Predicting future changes in the coastal zone by using mathematical models to select the most economic and effective protective measures. • Conducting research for ICZM (Integrated Coastal zone Management) under climate changes scenarios . • Providing the most efficient, low cost and effective control works to protect the heavily populated areas.
Preparing the general planning for shore protection activities and projects. Develop master plans & prepare the technical designs for new development projects on the seashores. Develop pilot projects, which serve the Authority activities in cooperation with the different authorities and Egyptian universities and foreign universities.
