Aims & Objectives: • To make sure that the economic and social development of The Gambia is done in an environmentally sustainable manner. • To develop and maintain a National Environmental Planning Framework for the Gambia. • To have a Legal recognition of the fundamental right to a sound environment, ensuring the health and well-being of all those living in the Gambia. • To educate about the environment, increasing environmental awareness and empowering communities to take action to identify and solve environmental problems. • To provide reliable and relevant information for sound environmental management. • To conserve and promote the sound and rational use of natural resources.
