About the Speakers:

Josie Raine leads Global Engagement and Advocacy for UNDP's Nature Hub in the Bureau for Policy and Programming Support (BPPS). She also leads the value shift pillar of UNDP's Nature Pledge which aims to rewrite narratives and catalyze behavioural change to accelerate and scale action for nature.

osie has 22 years of experience in communication strategy and management, joining the UN after being Executive Director of NGO Freeland working on counter wildlife trafficking, including running behavior change campaigns across Southeast Asia. Josie has also worked with the UK government on public policy campaigns and advised on communication, advocacy and campaign strategy for the WHO (Afghanistan), Medicin Du Monde (USA), UNICEF (USA) as well as for countless household brands and services. Josie holds an MSc in Strategic Communications from Columbia University in New York and is a former guest lecturer in Communication Strategy and Branding at City University, New York.


Stefania Fumo is the Communications Specialist and Coordinator at the FAO/GEF Coastal Fisheries Initiative (CFI), working on promoting sustainable and prosperous small-scale fishing communities and ecosystems in Cabo Verde, Côte d'Ivoire, Ecuador, Indonesia, Peru, and Senegal. She is passionate about making science accessible and engaging, bridging the gap between the scientific world and the public with her compelling storytelling. Before her current role, Stefania Fumo has extensive experience in communications, journalism and translation. She has worked as a freelance brand copywriter and journalist, translator, and editor for various international clients.


A passionate young international development expert, Stella Puteri, leverages over eight years of experience in communications and knowledge management to empower the sector. Combining her political science background from the Parahyangan Catholic University (Indonesia) with a Master's in Global Development (University of Leeds, UK), she thrives in collaborative environments, having worked with dynamic NGOs and donor organizations USAID and Australian DFAT. Currently, as the Communications and Knowledge Management Specialist for the Arafura and Timor Seas Ecosystem Action Phase II (ATSEA-2) Project, Stella's strategic approach amplifies project visibility, strengthens stakeholder engagement, and promotes the project's successes – all with a focus on fostering positive community impacts.

Dr. Handoko Adi Susanto (D.Sc,) is the Regional Project Manager for ATSEA-2. Handoko brings over two decades of hands-on experience working with renowned organizations like USAID, The Nature Conservancy, and the Wildlife Conservation Society. He received his Doctor of Science degree from Kyushu University in Japan through the support of the Japan Wildlife Research Center. Handoko's passion for marine ecosystems extends beyond his project work and into the classroom. He dedicated part of his time to shaping the next generation of marine scientists, mentoring and supervising students at the prestigious Bogor Agricultural University. With his deep expertise in integrated coastal management, coral reef ecology, and marine protected areas, Dr. Susanto is an acknowledged thought leader in the Coral Triangle region and beyond.
