[WIOSAP] Developing Collaborative Strategies for Sustainable Management of Mangroves in the Boeny Region Littorale, Madagascar
The overall goal of this project is to promote sustainable conservation and utilization of mangroves in the Boeny Region through development of viable collaborative and integrated management approach. Specifically to: (i) develop a sustainable comanagement mechanism to strengthen the governance of the mangroves as a renewable natural resource; (ii) promote community-based mangrove restoration to compensate for the degraded and lost resource and secure the future of ecosystem services they provide and (iii) appraise and promote viable alternative livelihood options to enhance local community socio-economic welfare and safeguarding of the environment.
